POET traces its roots back to the first hippies, heads, flower children and revolutionaries who left the turbulence of the cities in the late 1960s and moved to Northern California in an effort to get “Back to the Land.” Along with their dreams and ideals, they brought with them the seeds of the plant responsible for so much of the awakening that defined the era, and the Emerald Triangle was born.
From the stunning windswept coastline of Mendocino through the lush sun-soaked ridgelines of Humbolt to the rugged mountains of Trinity the people and their plant, or vice versa, lived under Nature’s Law while waiting for California law to catch-up. Thanks to the diverse regional climate, Sativas and Indicas, that had developed over eons in vastly different parts of the world, were able to grow, in the same locale. This close proximity afforded a level of cross-pollination never before seen by plant nor person and what started here reverberates through the thousands of cannabis strains on the market today.
In the same way that the cannabis of the world left its signature on the Emerald Triangle, so too has the Emerald Triangle left its signature on the cannabis of the world. Today, Producer Owners of the Emerald Triangle holds fast to our roots. Our farmers continue to work with locally developed strains in our rich and ideal climate in the region with the longest history of sustained cannabis cultivation in the United States. Many POETs are second and third generation cannabis farmers cultivating the same land as their ancestors. We honor those echoes and give thanks for being able to continue the legacy that consistently brings the best cannabis to the world. We look forward to sharing the Emerald Triangle with you.
